Planetsserver down

Autor: Leider is seit dem 09.07 der Planetsserver down und man keine Dateien hoch- bzw. herunterladen. Ich gehe mal davon aus, das die Seite gehackt wurde oder das es beim Hoster einen Crash gab. So wie ich das Team kenne und einschätze, wurden sicher sämtliche Hosts gestoppt, so das nach erfolgter Reparatur erst wieder gehostet wird….Hauptsache es hat nicht den Hostserver erwischt..weiß jemand genaueres??

The system drive broke down, probably Thursday, July 9th.
Unfortunately two of us were on holiday so Mr. Murphy did his job pretty accurate.
Yesterday we migrated the server to our new virtual server which was intended anyway but not under these circumstances.
At the moment we are busy bringing up email communication for planetsserver.com before going on with installing all relevant system services as well as the web application.
We try to keep you informed on this web site.

The logs show I/O problems starting on Thursday, July 9th at 00:23.
Fortunately the system partition seems to be rarely damaged. We could restore the biggest part and it is being copied to the new server at the moment which takes some time.
The next step will be the installing of all system services and restoring the backups of all games which were saved on a different hard drive.
Hopefully planetsserver will be back by the weekend but we can’t promise by now.

The system partition could successfully be mounted.
Unfortunately our backups are not that easy to restore as we expected but it should work with some more manual work.
As always you do learn making reliable backups not until you really get problems.

) Webapplikation wieder zum Laufen gebracht werden muss.
Wie in den News beschrieben hatten wir ein Hardwareproblem.
Die Systemplatte ist abgeraucht und wir mussten unsere schon länger geplante Migration unfreiwillig vorziehen.
Blöderweise waren einige von uns zu diesem Zeitpunkt auch gerade noch im Urlaub, so dass wir nicht schneller reagieren konnten
Gehostet wird seit Donnerstag, den 12.07. nicht, da erst sämtliche Daten auf den neuen Server kopiert werden mussten und die (nicht gerade taufrische
Es sieht jetzt recht gut aus, und wir hoffen dass wir in den nächsten Tagen den Server vollständig migriert haben.
Bevor das Hosting wieder losgeht werden wir aber nochmal ausgiebig testen und auch genug Vorlauf lassen, damit alle Spieler Bescheid wissen und wieder einsteigen können.
